Soup Dumplings

Soup dumplings, or Xiaolongbao, are steamed buns from Shanghai known for their thin dough and flavourful filling of minced meat or vegetables and savoury broth. The broth, created by gelatinized meat stock, melts during steaming, creating a soupy centre. Served with vinegar and chili dipping sauce, these dumplings are a celebrated delicacy in Chinese cuisine.

Pork Soup Dumpling

Ingredients: Filling: Pork, Water, Cabbage, Pork fat, Onion, Soy sauce (water, salt, sugar, caramel colour, modified cornstarch, hydrolyzed (corn, soy, wheat) protein, soybeans, sodium benzoate, sunset yellow FCF, tartrazine, maltodextrin, sulphites), Green onion, Texturized soy protein, Sesame oil, Garlic, Modified tapioca starch, Sugar, Salt, Gelatin, Ginger, Yeast extract, Modified cellulose. Ingredients: Filling: Chicken, Water, Pork fat, Cabbage, Onion, Carrot, Green onion, Pork, Texturized soy protein, Sesame oil, Soy sauce (water, salt, sugar, caramel colour, modified cornstarch, hydrolyzed (corn, soy, wheat) protein, soybeans, sodium benzoate, sunset yellow FCF, tartrazine, maltodextrin, sulphites), Modified tapioca starch, Chicken powder (dextrose, corn syrup solids, corn starch, yeast extract, chicken fat, potassium chloride, celery seed, spices, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate, natural flavour), Garlic, Gelatin, Ginger, Sugar, Modified cellulose. Vegetarian Soup Dumpling

Ingredients: Filling: Water, Tofu (water, soybeans, calcium sulphate, glucono-delta-lactone), Textured soy protein, Cabbage, Onion, Carrot, Green onion, Soy sauce (water, salt, sugar, caramel colour, modified cornstarch, hydrolyzed (corn, soy, wheat) protein, soybeans, sodium benzoate, sunset yellow FCF, tartrazine, maltodextrin, sulphites), Modified cellulose, Carrageenan, Sesame oil, Sugar, Salt, Garlic, Yeast extract, Ginger, Mushroom seasoning (mushroom powder, mushroom extract, nucleotide seasoning), Spices, Dipotassium phosphate. Freezer / 18 months

  1. Bring 2-3 inches of water to a rolling boil in a large wok or pan.
  2. Place dumplings in lined steamer basket. Make sure to leave a 1 inch gap between dumplings.
  3. Steam dumplings for 12 minutes (until internal temp. reaches 165°F). Turn off the heat. Rest dumplings for 1 minute with lid on. After 1 minute remove lid and rest for an additional minute. Serve with your favorite sauces!
